Riders on the STORM at MAGENTA 1 B2B Race!

The fourth MAGENTA 1 B2B RUN race was held on September 13th starting at 18 o'clock.

MAGENTA 1 B2B RUN is the first business racing for employees of companies registered in the Republic of Croatia, and for the fourth year in a row it is held in Rijeka, Osijek, Split and Zagreb. This year, Zagreb united an incredible number of 6250 runners, indicating that MAGENTA 1 B2B RUN has positioned itself as a key event for numerous companies and employers.

The organizers also made sure that everything worked well, so each participant received a competitive number, timing chip, racing during and after the race, a certificate of participation and of course the food and drink at the After Run party.

Our Riders on the STORM took 104th place overall and raised our cheek again. We are especially proud of our colleagues and colleagues who have been running for the first time this year and have proved that everything is possible if you have good will and team support! Those more experienced showed their physical and mental abilities by running the whole path with a smile on their face!

U petak 29.lipnja održan je 7. po redu, sada već tradicionalni golf turnir STORM Grupe. 

Iako se ove godine ne možemo pohvaliti savršenim vremenskim uvjetima, broj od gotovo 80 natjecatelja potvrđuje vrijednost ovog turnira.

STORM Computers Introduces The FlashStack Data Center!

On March 27th 2018 in a Tehnical Museum of Nikola Tesla we presented the The FlashStack Data Center, an innovative Converged Infrastructure (CI) solution, which is the result of the symbiosis of two global leaders in information technology, Pure Storage and Cisco Systems.

The event was inaugurated by STORM Computers board member Goran Jovičić, and his word was given to Tihomir Čalić, who introduced attendees with Pure Storage and their innovative data storage solutions with his presentation.

As a representatives of the Pure Storage there were Christian Putz, Maciej Bocian, Hassan Hamadani and Bogusz Blaszkiewicz, who presented the latest FlashStack and FlashBlade solutions. On behalf of Cisco Systems, we hosted Pero Gvozdenica.

Apart from the presentations, live demo solutions were also presented, tailored to the needs of all profile users.

The 17th Cisco Connect conference

The 19th CARNet Conference, CUC 2017

The 19 th CARNet User Conference, CUC 2017, was held from 8th to 10th November 2017 in Valamar hotels in Dubrovnik. The largest conference on education in the Republic of Croatia, under the title "Related knowledge (... 25 years)", visited almost 1,100 participants, of which 650 teachers.

The conference was opened by the envoy of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia and the State Secretary of the Central State Office for the Development of Digital Society, Mr. Bernard Gršić.

An interesting interactive lecture was held by doc.dr.sc. Predrag Pale, co-founder and architect of CARNet and one of the founders of the Internet in Croatia.

The conference program consisted of 15 professional papers, more than 40 workshops, 70 interactive presentations, and presentation of partners from the accompanying industry.

The first day of the conference was marked by the presentation of the activities of the pilot project of e-School, the largest project in the field of education in the country. Andrijana Prskalo Maček, deputy director of CARNet and project manager, presented the latest e-Services and teaching tools developed within this project, involving 151 directors and more than 7,000 teachers and through more than 23,000 students. STORM Computers plays an important role in the project; within the interactive teaching, the company implemented a wireless network in numerous schools throughout the Republic of Croatia and thus enabled them to use the solution unobstructed. The company also participates in setting up and designing the solution, implementing it as well as educating school teachers and administrators.

This year's CARNet competition entitled "The Real Knowledge Exchange" reported 21 digital teaching materials and the Jury selected as the best material the work entitled "A as Algorithm" by author Jelena Radlović of the 1st Gymnasium in Osijek.

In a cousy and well-known Matis Absolut Lounge ambience, on November 7th, an interesting presentation hosted by STORM Computers and Cisco was held.

Through SPARK's direct demonstration, the participants were able to convince themselves of all the benefits of this new generation Meeting Server.

Riders on the STORM - MAGENTA 1 B2B RUN Zagreb 2017

The largest business racing event in Croatia, MAGENTA 1 B2B RUN Zagreb 2017, was held on 14.09. starting at 18h.

The third edition of the race, organized by Run & Trek, this year attracted nearly 4,500 enthusiasts and an undeniable number of fans. The B2B race is designed as an additional motivation to enable employees to activate, team up, and team spirit. The track was also 5 kilometers long this year and tailored to all levels of runners. The start and the goal were in the direction above Pavilion No. 6 and on the way out of Velesajma they ran on the road in the direction of the north towards the Hippodrome and between Hippodrome and Velesajma. After the announcement of the singles and team winners, After Run Party started and the organizer made sure that the drinks and drinks were not lacking.

Under the symbolic name, Riders on the STORM, our "colors" were defended by 25 staff members. And we are very proud of them! Out of a total of 246 institutions and companies, STORMs took 101st place!!! There were some serious runners who were preparing for the race for weeks, but also those who came amateur to this challenge and did not lift up from their comfortable work chairs on Friday. We also have to thank to, not so much sport-oriented, but excellent mood supporters of the STORM team.

STORMs again shoved that they are not just a great racing team but have a real team spirit.

Workshop "New sources of revenue with HPE Aruba Networks"

In the unique Aquatics Aquarium area in Karlovac, a workshop "New sources of revenue with HPE Aruba Networks" was held for the Hrvatski Telekom d.d. (Croatian Telecom Inc.).

After introductory words, new business models were presented for new sources of revenue (As a sevice models, loT & Smart City initiatives).

STORM Group held its sixth STORM Group Open Golf Tournament

On Saturday, June 03, 2017, is held the sixth STORM Group Open Golf tournament. It is one of the several tournaments in the PBZ Trophy competition, which is one of the largest regional golf competitions that regularly attracts more than 200 participants from leading business positions in Croatia and the region as well as celebrities from the world of entertainment and sports.

As well as last year, this year, the contestants started the Cannon start, and the rest of the tournament participants, our friends and guests passed the golf school and won the prizes after the organized competition.

End of the tournament with the award of the prizes to the best contestants marked the celebration with tamburitza musicians.

On the company’s premises on thursday 18th of may 2017. will be held the presentation about Flowmon solutions with a focus on concrete examples. We have reserved the second part of the presentation for a practical view of the effect of the solution on Flowmon real-time demo system.

Classroom of the future opened in High school - Gymnasium Karlovac

Fifth classroom of the future sponsored by Microsoft Croatia, Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNet and Storm Computers has opened in High school - Gymnasium Karlovac. Project allows students to learn digital skills and technological trends while teachers have the ability to facilitate the transfer of knowledge. During opening ceremony workshop, students have used tablets, interactive whiteboard and Microsoft Office 365 tools (such as social network Yammer, presentation tool Sway and online wall Padlet). During the demo lesson students have expanded their German vocabulary and through given exams and exercises they were encouraged to think and develop argument skills through written and oral communication.

As already experienced integrator of classroom of the future solution, Storm Computers has recognized the importance of digitalization in teaching process. With this solution, students and teachers have the ability to use modern tools in teaching and learning according to the latest global technology trends in education. Classroom of the Future opened in Children's Hospital Zagreb

After several elementary schools and high schools across Croatia, for the first time ever Classroom of the Future project joins School in the hospital. On December 6th two Classrooms of the future were opened; one in the Children's Hospital Zagreb and one in the Department of Hematology and Oncology „Dr. Mladen Ćepulić“. Project was established by Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNet, Samsung Electronics and Storm Computers. This project will enable interactive learning with support of the latest ICT technologies for all students who are in long-term hospitalization, as in pediatric clinic and in the department of pediatric oncology. It is the first classroom of this kind, which aims to help patients of this hospitals overcome everyday obstacles and sense of isolation. 

Depending on health, mental and physical condition of each student, classes are held in groups in the classroom and individually - in patients' rooms.  While on a treatment, students are taught by teachers from Primary School Izidor Kršnjavi in Zagreb. It is worth to mention that this School in hospital is the first of 12 Schools in hospital in Croatia to introduce e-journal for classes in hospital and thus achieves a much faster and better cooperation with the main school. With the help of modern tools, tablet PCs and audio-video connection, classroom offers distance learning and connection with their home schools across Croatia.

Storm Grupa participated at the 18th CARNet Users Conference

With the title “Let us program our future”, conference was held from November 9th till 11th at hotels Lone and Eden in Rovinj, Croatia. The Conference was organized by the Croatian Academic and Research Network - CARNet, sponsored by President of Croatia, Mrs. Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic and the Ministry of science and education.

The conference was attended by over 980 participants, making it the largest ever organized CARNet Users Conference. Participants were able to attend a rich program composed of two invited lectures, two panels, 30 workshops, 48 active sessions, 22 presentations and 14 presentations from sponsors. The main conference program was divided into five thematic sections: Interactive learning and playful classes, Open education, Development of digital schools, Digital culture and Technology impact on the education of the future.

CARNet Users Conference - CUC is an integral part of the national project "e-Schools: Developing a system of digital maturity of schools (pilot project)", which is co-financed by the European Union from the European structural and investment funds. Storm Grupa held a presentation on the topic of technology in education and own experiences in implementing solutions for smart classrooms. Also in the exhibition part of the conference, the company presented solutions for smart classrooms through software for classroom management, interactive 3D software Corinth Classroom and "All-in-one" device called HP Sprout.

Storm Grupa has participated in this year's „Vis regatta“ which has ended with a record number of 155 boats and more than 1.100 sailors.

The first stage of the competition started on Friday, October 14th and after two hours and 13 minutes of sailing, boat „Molo Longo Tutta Trieste“ with skipper Rajko Kujundžić from club Galeb has passed the finish line as the first competitor. The second stage of the competition started on Sunday, October 16th at 9 am. After first hours of sailing it was obvious that the 16-meter boat „Molo Longo Tutta Trieste“ is the favorite. Sailors had spent their free time on the island Vis, which was traditionally marked with the full schedule of events and a lot of fun.

Through the activity of sailing, company supports the development of teamwork in corporate business but also encourages development of skills which are necessary for successful teamwork. Successful sailing is a result of combination between team cooperation and excellent communication and understanding, the character mix which is essential for achieving excellent business goals.

Managed Services in the Cloud

On 30th June 2016., high school gymnasium Metković launched its first "Classroom of the Future". This classroom is a result of donation and cooperation between Microsoft Croatia, company Storm Computers, Croatian Academic and Research Network - CARNet and the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports.

Classroom of the future in Metković is equipped with the 30 most modern Windows, tablet PCs equipped with keyboards tailored to students, a large Multi Touch smart whiteboard and classroom management software. This solution allows performance of interactive classes, usage of teaching materials in electronic format, monitoring of activities of each individual student and mutual communication between teachers and students.

All devices are connected in the network through specially designed system. Gathered students made live demonstration of how this system works in practice. Students from 3rd C class will be the primary beneficiaries of this Classroom of the Future during the school year 2016/2017. Working on tablets, students showed the benefits of such „smart“ collaborative tools in education thus students and their teachers can keep notes, observations and comments and results of lab exercises, create interactive presentations and ultimately test the learned content via knowledge quizzes and examinations.

Storm Computers has reached the final of European Business Awards, following a 16-month journey which began when the competition engaged with over 32.000 businesses at its entry stage in spring last year, from which it named 678 National Champions in September 2015. As a National Champion, company then created a video presentation for the judges and took part in the Awards’ public vote.  It was then named as Ruban d’Honneur finalist of The UKTI Award for Innovation.

The Event at the Milan Marriott Hotel had two parts; a 100% Growth Conference during the day where businesses leaders got together to debate and identify ways to double the size of their businesses, and a Gala Dinner in the evening when the final winners were announced. As part of PBZ Trophy competition, STORM Grupa held its fifth tournament on Saturday, June 11th 2016. Storm Grupa Open is one of the few tournaments within PBZ Trophy competition, one of the largest regional golf competition which is regularly visited with more than 200 participants. This year we had a little change for participants in the competition part of the tournament which started with a different type of start, so-called Cannon start. Other participants of the tournament, our friends and guests, tried their luck at golf school and the best of them won the awards in an organized mini competition.

Current trends and globalization mark stronger strengthening of competition and more enhanced terms of placements. One of that standard is ISO 20000, adopted in year 2005, which covers the requirements that have to be met by IT service providers. For the first time in Croatia and region, in year 2010. In the end of 2015. the company successfully completed the recertification audit. Storm Grupa has organized its fourth tournament within PBZ Trophy golf competition on Friday, September 11th 2015. Storm Grupa Open is one of few tournaments within PBZ Trophy, one of the largest regional golf competition which is visited by more than 200 participants from the leading business positions in Croatia and region, as well as popular people from world of sport and entertainment. Participating in this tournament passionate golf players tested their sport knowledge on golf courts while competing for prestigious positions and awards, in other hand nonprofessional players and guests had opportunity to participate in golf school and to test learned knowledge through organized mini competition. In the premises of elementary school "Rikard Katalinić Jeretov" in Opatija, STORM Computers in collaboration with Microsoft Croatia and Hewlett-Packard, has introduced a solution of smart classrooms; classrooms of modern technological and educational equipment. Project „Classroom of the future" is accomplished by cooperation of all three partners on CARNet's e-School project, which made a big step towards the future of education, where smart classroom system allows you to perform educational process with the use of multimedia and internet to improve the quality of learning. In this time of economic crisis is not simple to invest into educational system. The success of this project is a result of action and support of the entire school. With the leadership and personal commitment of professor and school director Fredi Glavan, this school was listed as one of the leading schools in the implementation of ICT in teaching and in general operations of institution. Vision of this project is to get as many schools to become innovative participant in shaping the future of learning. Through new experience, encourage teachers and students to become more involved in creating a new dimension of education in which technology provides individualized tools that enable better access to student and prepare young people for entering the world of extreme competition and challenging labor market. After the event colleagues from CARNet and STORM Computers have presented the functionalities of the system and highlighted the importance of the educational transformation in order to point out positive impact of modern technology on the daily work of teachers and the learning process itself.
